About Me

My background

Childhood

Born in Manitowoc, WI, I was raised on the west side of Milwaukee before moving to Wauwatosa.  I had the usual regimen of school, church, Boy Scouts, youth sports, and family. As an avid fisherman, my father would take my brothers and I to every piece of water we could access, from McKinley Marina to Lake Mills, to fish.  Nagawicka was always on our list despite the shallow hulls in the Beaver Boat rentals (now Fishbones). I came to love what Lake Country had to offer as a child.

Education

MPS from K-4 then Wauwatosa Public Schools

Wauwatosa West High School

University of Wisconsin Madison

Beginning with delivering newspapers, cutting lawns, caddying and washing dishes, I have always been responsible for earning my share starting at a young age.  I put myself through College by leveraging a hobby and selling computers on a retail floor during the PC boom in the 1980's.  Despite my schooling in Chemical Engineering, I kept on in the computing technology industry.  Selling directly to both private and public institutions, I have negotiated and won lucrative state and federal contracts that have served as the backbone for the growth of two different technology companies. I have been working at a local company called EmbedTek for the past 13 years as an Account Executive, leveraging our inventive engineering to enable custom technology solutions for the Health Care, Military Simulation and Industrial Automation markets.

Personal

After college, I married my lovely wife Noel, and we started growing our family. In 1999, when our oldest was only 5, we chose Delafield as our permanent home to raise our five daughters.  With that wonderful dynamic, my wife and I became very involved in the community: coaching youth soccer and basketball, Girl Scouts, Catechism and all the requisite school functions.  All of the girls went through the Kettle Moraine School District and have stayed nearby as adults. We belong to St. Joan of Arc Parish and have a habit of over-volunteering, but we thrive on being busy. I love to golf and am still an avid fisherman who loves the outdoors and what Delafield has to offer with its trails, parks, shops and restaurants.

Community Involvement

St. Joan of Arc, St. Charles (TMMG), Knights of Columbus, Hawks Inn Historical Society Board, City Common Council,

City of Delafield Government (Past and Present)

I credit my wife Noel for luring me into local government.  She was "drafted" by Alderman Miskelley in 2007 to be a part of the Plan B Building Committee to help right-size the new City Hall, Library and Public Safety Buildings from a >$20 Million ask to the successful $12 Million implementation that serves us today. Witnessing how a talented group of dedicated individuals could make such a difference led me to run for Alderman in 2008. Since then I have served as:

.  Alderman 7th District - 14 years

Common Council President - 8 years

DelHart (WPCC) Board - Chair for past 5 years

Plan Commission member - past 9+ years

Board of Review - Chair for 8+ years

Parks and Recreation Committee member

Public Works Committee member

Lake Dredging Plan B Committee member
